The
Gir Breed- Pride of India:
Much has been said about the Cows of India, but least effort have been
made to upkeep, maintain and breed the indigenous breeds like "Gir
SHAH - IVAL", "RED - SINDHI" of India.
Our specialization is the GIR-breed of
Saurashtra, Gujarat, India. |
Bestowed with all capabilities of milk
potential, early maturity regular-calving to sustain and maintain it's
standard not only at home but also in any part of the world.
|
Environmental
Conditions :
The Gir's have been exported to Brazil since 1880 which are
famous for their sturdiness, milk and meat. |

|
 |
Good
Points of GIR:
The GIR has proved its favorable breeding characters not only for milk but also for
its ability to face draught conditions.
Because of its pendulous sheath and heavily built but it is a
lazy worker. The GIR bullock can drag the heaviest loads on
any type of soil be it sandy black or Rocky. It has been equally
useful in hot climatic regions as well |
as other climatic conditions.
The GIR has survived and stood against natural calamities like
Famine and floods which have frequently affected Saurashtra region of
Gujarat. The very fact that they have lived comfortably in Rajasthan,
Gujarat, Tamilnadu, Maharasthra, Madhya Pradesh, Brazil, Venezuela, Mexico,
and USA proves their sturdiness.
